2024 Minderoo Travel Grant


With the support of the Minderoo Foundation, a key partner of the Zero Childhood Cancer Program, we are delighted to offer a number of travel grants for individuals to attend the Zero Childhood Cancer National Symposium in Sydney on 8-9 May 2024.

ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA

Grants are available for Early to Mid-Career researchers as follows:

  • Conference Registration fee ($590), and Travel up to $1,000 (total up to $1590) for one applicant from each of Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania
  • Conference Registration fee ($590), and Travel of up to $1,500 (total up to $2090) for one applicant from New Zealand.
  • Conference Registration fee ($590) for one applicant from New South Wales or Australian Capital Territory

TERMS

  • An early-mid career researcher is defined as an individual (including students, trainees, scientists) up to 10 years post degree, excluding career disruptions. Research career interruptions may include non-research employment, illness, or family and career responsibilities and must be justified.
  • ZERO Symposium Scientific Program Committee and Local Organising Committee members are not eligible for travel grants.
  • Applications will be assessed by the ZERO Symposium Scientific Program Committee based on the application form, abstract quality, and the applicant’s relevance to the field of paediatric precision oncology.
  • Applicants are required to submit an abstract.
  • The travel grant must be used for in-person conference attendance.
  • Successful applicants must disclose details of financial support from other sources, so that shortlisted applicants for the Zero Symposium Travel Grant may benefit.
  • Successful applicants who are unable to attend the conference as planned are required to return the full amount of grant money provided. If possible and depending on timing, the ZERO Symposium Scientific Program Committee will allocate this funding to short-listed applicants.
  • Successful applicants will be responsible for registering, arranging own travel, and will be reimbursed.
  • Successful applicants must retain all receipts as proof of purchase for reimbursement.
