Registration Terms & Conditions

Payment

  • Registration is available via the Online Registration form.  
  • When registering online, a secure online form is available for credit card transactions, or you can chose the 'tax invoice' option and an invoice will be provided with EFT details.
  • Credit cards accepted include Visa and MasterCard only.
  • All amounts are in Australian dollars and include 10% GST. Overseas registrants should arrange payment by bank draft or money order payable in Australian dollars at an Australian bank.
  • Delegates will receive a automatic confirmation email which includes the receipt (if paid) and tax invoice.
  • Cheques or bank drafts should be made payable to "Human Genetics Society of Australasia".

All registrations will be acknowledged automatically by email. If you do not receive an email confirmation upon the completion of your online registration, please contact the Conference Secretariat to ensure that your details have been received.

All registration and function payments must be received prior to the Annual Scientific Meeting. If payment is not received by 10 July 2024 your registration may be cancelled. 

Goods & Services Tax

A Tax Invoice will be issued with the receipt of registration. Unless otherwise requested in writing at the time of sending the registration enrolment form, the Tax Invoice will be in the name of the delegate. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be advised in writing to the Conference Secretariat by 1 July 2024. Cancellations made by 1 July 2024 will receive a refund less a $100 cancellation fee. Refunds after 1 July 2024 will only be issued in exceptional circumstances (less the cancellation fee), but substitute delegates are acceptable.

In the event that COVID-19 prevents you from attending in-person, your registration will be converted to a Virtual Registration, and the difference refunded.  If you wish to cancel your registration for other reasons, then the cancellation time-frame and fees apply.

All refunds are paid after the conclusion of the Conference.

The Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA), the conference organisers and secretariat are not liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs, claims or liabilities suffered or incurred by registrants including consequential or indirect losses or loss of profit through registering for the conference, attending the conference, cancellation of the conference, failure of the conference to achieve your expectations, or for any error or omission by HGSA. The HGSA, the conference organisers and secretariat will not accept liability for the damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons or loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the HGSA Conference or related events.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Conference. The Conference Organisers, HGSA, and the Organising Committee will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel or insurance agent, or airline in regard to this matter. 

COVID-19 Protocol

In registering for the in-person HGSA ASM, delegates agree to comply with all COVID-19 measures and protocols.

Virtual Access​

The Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA), the conference organisers and secretariat will not be held liable, nor will a refund be optional if delegates, sponsors, speakers or exhibitors are unable to access, connect or have difficulty with internet connection, sound or visuals when participating in the HGSA 45th ASM. The conference organisers will endeavour to provide information on how to access the ASM, however delegates acknowledge that HGSA, the conference organisers and secretariat are not responsible for their IT connection or any issues caused by settings on devices used to access the HGSA 45th ASM, and delegates will endeavour to solve these issues with advice from their organisations IT support/suppliers of the devices they are using.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Annual Scientific Meeting. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the meeting, or through cancellation of the Annual Scientific Meeting itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Conference Organisers, HGSA, and the secretariat will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel agent or airline in regard to this matter.

Force Majeure

HGSA and the conference organisers shall not be held liable for any loss caused by the cancellation of the conference where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure. The organisers will use all reasonable efforts to conduct the conference despite the intervention or occurrence of any such cause.

In this clause, Force Majeure means circumstances which are beyond the reasonable control of the all involved parties, and which are reasonably likely to affect the successful delivery of the Event or would make it inadvisable, impracticable, illegal, or impossible for a party to perform its obligations as originally contracted under this Agreement, including: fire, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, collapse of building structures, widespread disease or other public health emergency (including pandemic or epidemic), strike or other industrial action, the outbreak or declaration of war, act of terrorism, revolution or government orders or action (including the declaration of a State of Emergency).

Without prejudice to its obligations HGSA and the conference organises accept no liability and will not be liable for any compensation where the performance of its obligations under this Agreement is affected by Force Majeure.
