*Full-time Student Registration applies to HGSA Student Members or students enrolled in an HGSA approved Masters course or undertaking a PhD in a relevant topic and with an annual income of less than $45,000.

Payment

Pre-registration is essential.  Registration closes 5pm AEST, 23 May 2022.

  • Secure online Registration is provided.
  • Credit cards accepted include Visa and MasterCard only.  
  • EFT payments should be made payable to "Human Genetics Society of Australasia".
  • All amounts are in Australian dollars and include 10% GST. Overseas registrants should arrange payment by bank draft or money order payable in Australian dollars at an Australian bank, and ensure they cover the bank fees in the total.
  • Delegates will receive a automatic confirmation email which includes the receipt (if paid) and tax invoice.

All registrations will be acknowledged automatically by email. If you do not receive an email confirmation upon the completion of your online registration, please contact the Conference Secretariat to ensure that your details have been received.

All registration and function payments must be received prior to the Scientific Meeting. Onsite registration will be available and payment must be made at the time of registration.

Goods & Services Tax

A Tax Invoice will be issued with the receipt of registration. Unless otherwise requested in writing at the time of sending the registration enrolment form, the Tax Invoice will be in the name of the delegate. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be advised in writing to the Conference Secretariat by 1 May 2022. A $65 admin fee may apply to all cancellations. Refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances after this date, but substitute delegates are acceptable.

Substitute delegates should be advised in writing to the secretariat by 23 May 2022.  

Cancellation due to Covid-19 restrictions

In the event that COVID-19 restrictions prevent you from attending in-person, your registration will be converted to the Friday Virtual Registration, and the difference will be refunded.   If you choose not to transfer to the virtual registration, you will be entitled to a full refund less an admin fee of $65. Refunds will be provided after the Conference.

If you wish to cancel your registration for other circumstances, then the above cancellation time frame and fee applies. 

Cancellation due to medical reasons

The health and safety of conference attendees is our highest priority. We are mindful of the health risks posed by COVID-19, and the importance of following official medical advice with respect to social distancing, practicing good hygiene and staying at home when unwell. We request that any delegate who is feeling unwell or has cold or flu like symptoms, or who may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, not attend the conference.

If, on medical grounds, you are unable to attend the conference, you must cancel your attendance in writing by email to conference@aacb.asn.au. A full refund will be provided; however, you may be asked to provide additional details.

Conference cancellation or move to fully virtual

We are monitoring the latest health advice from both the Department of Health (Australia) and the NSW Government and we ask that all delegates do the same. If we are required to make any changes or cancellations to the conference due to government restrictions in relation to COVID-19, delegates will be notified by email:

  • If the conference is moved to a fully virtual event, your registration will be converted to a virtual registration and the difference refunded. 
  • If the conference is cancelled in full, you will be entitlement to a full refund of the conference registration fee.  
  • Note: accommodation and travel costs are subject to the accommodation provider / travel provider cancellation policy.  It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel insurance prior to coming to the Conference. 

COVID-19 Compliance

In registering for the in-person meeting, delegates agree to comply with all COVID-19 measures and protocols. By registering for this event, the ASDG and organisers reserve the right to provide your contact details to authorities for the purposes of contact tracing and any other relevant government requirements. 

By entering the Venue, Patrons acknowledge that there is a risk of contracting COVID-19 and the Venue owner, Manager, ASDG and the conference organisers do not guarantee that it is or will remain a COVID-19 free area. The Patron assumes all risk for any loss or damage caused in this regard while in or around the Venue. By entering the Venue and providing the information, each Patron authorises the Venue owner, or Manager to collect and store a Patron’s personal data, who may share it at any time with relevant authorities for the purposes of contact tracing.

Patrons may be denied entry to, or removed from the Venue for any failure to comply with a direction or request from the Manager, ASDG the conference organisers or relevant health authority, including but not limited to, additional health and temperature screenings or subsequent failure to meet satisfactory results from those screenings, or failing to adhere to any social distancing, hygiene practices or other processes, as deemed appropriate by the Manager or ASDG and the conference organisers

Patrons acknowledge that by entering the Venue, they are not currently exhibiting any respiratory symptoms (including but not limited to a cough or shortness of breath) sore throat, fatigue, loss of smell or taste, a runny nose, muscle pain, joint pain, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or loss of appetite, or that during the past 14 days, they have not had close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19. If one or more symptoms are present, a Patron must not attend the Event or attempt to enter the Venue and should immediately seek medical advice in accordance with the directions of relevant health authorities.

During the Event, Patrons must remain within their allocated event space to minimise unnecessary movement throughout the Venue, and only contactless payments will be accepted for the Event.

Virtual Access​

The conference organisers and secretariat will not be held liable, nor will a refund be optional if delegates, sponsors, speakers or exhibitors are unable to access, connect or have difficulty with internet connection, sound or visuals when participating in the meeting. The conference organisers will endeavour to provide information on how to access the meeting, however delegates acknowledge that the organisers and secretariat are not responsible for their IT connection or any issues caused by settings on devices used to access the meeting, and delegates will endeavour to solve these issues with advice from their organisations IT support/suppliers of the devices they are using.

If you are unable to view live sessions at the time of the meeting, sessions will be recorded and available on-demand post conference, until 31 Dec 2022. 

Force Majeure

ASDG and the organisers shall not be liable for any loss caused by the cancellation of the conference where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure. The organisers will use all reasonable efforts to conduct the conference despite the intervention or occurrence of any such cause.

In this clause, Force Majeure means circumstances which are beyond the reasonable control of ASDG and the organisers and which are reasonably likely to affect ASDG’s successful delivery of the Event or would make it inadvisable, impracticable, illegal, or impossible for a party to perform its obligations as originally contracted under this Agreement, including: fire, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, collapse of building structures, widespread disease or other public health emergency (including pandemic or epidemic), strike or other industrial action, the outbreak or declaration of war, act of terrorism, revolution or government orders or action (including the declaration of a State of Emergency).

Without prejudice to its obligations ASDG and the organisers accept no liability and will not be liable for any compensation where the performance of its obligations under this Agreement is affected by Force Majeure.

If you have registered to attend in person and the venue is cancelled due to circumstances out of our control, your registration will be transferred to a virtual registration.

Disclaimer

The Conference Programme and registration information is correct at the time of printing. However, the organisers reserve the right to change the information where necessary without notice.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Conference.  The Conference Organisers, ASDG, HGSA, and the secretariat will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure.
