Presenter FAQs

Please make sure you log into the platform using CHROME.  If you do not have Chrome installed please install it prior to the scheduled rehearsal.

Please log in 30mins before your presentation starts so you can ensure you can access the portal and setup your camera and mic.

If possible please use a wired internet cable not wireless.

As a backup, please send through any PowerPoint slides ahead of the presentation.

If you have the ability to use two screens this will mean you can have multiple functions available to view easily.  For example, if sharing slides live, you will be able to view the count down timer and communicate via chat with the chair if required.  This is not essential if not possible.

Important things to know about the online portal

  • Use a laptop, notebook or desktop computer
  • Google chrome is the recommended browser for the best user experience.
  • Avoid having additional browser tabs open at the same time.
  • Turn off all notifications (emails, social media, reminders)
  • Your login is personalised and cannot be shared.

If you plan to present from your work computer:

If you plan to join from your work computer or laptop you MUST ensure that your workplace firewall DOES NOT BLOCK ACCESS to the sessions and functions.

The online platform interfaces with Vimeo, Twilio and Vonage so depending on your network settings, you may need your IT department to ‘allow’ these sites – this process is called ‘WHITELISTING’.

The streaming platforms which may be used during the conference are listed below. PLEASE check with your IT department as early as possible because it may take a few days for your request to be processed.

  • Twilio
  • Vonage
  • Vimeo
  • AirCast
    • livefeed.aircastcdn.com
    • studio.aircastcdn.com
    • hls.aircastcdn.com
    • live.aircastcdn.com

Do I need to download any software?

If you do not already have Google Chrome please download this here, prior to your presentation. Google Chrome is the preferred browser for the OnAir platform (internet explorer, safari & firefox are not compatible).

You will be sent a web-link prior to the commencement of the event which gives you access to the virtual platform called OnAIR, which is where you’ll watch and participate in the meeting.

OnAIR:

  • Works most effectively when using the Google Chrome internet browser.
  • Provides full online support before and during the event for attendees, speakers and session chairs.

It is recommended for optimal use of the platform to access the OnAIR portal on a PC.

What is the required connection speed for the OnAir platform?

Please ensure your connection speed is 2 Mbps upload, 4 Mbps download or better.  You can test your Internet connection speed at SpeedTest.net.

Will I be able to use presenters view to see my notes in PPT?

When you share your screen during your presentation, attendees will see exactly what you see. This means you will not be able to use the presenter view setting in PowerPoint unless you have multiple monitors and can manage the screen sharing settings easily. For ease, we recommend you have your notes printed or a separate device.

What if I have audio or camera issues?

Reset/review your internet browser permissions for your camera and microphone. For example, in Chrome, you can click on the small lock icon to the right of the URL to check on these settings. Make sure you know where to find these settings before the first day of the meeting.

Who do I contact for support during the event?

Our Live Support Team is online and available for you at any time during the live event. If you have any questions or need technical assistance, click on the red Live Support icon in the top right of the screen.

Outside of the event days, please contact Lisa King, Event Manager at E: lisa@aacb.asn.au or M: 0408 904 524
