Andrew Don-Wauchope is a chemical pathologist working with Healius Pathology in Sydney NSW. He is trained in endocrinology and chemical pathology and remains affiliated with McMaster University in Ontario, Canada where he is a full professor of Pathology and Molecular Medicine with a cross appointment to Internal Medicine, division of Endocrinology. Andrew has worked in clinical and/or laboratory practice in South Africa, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and Australia. Through his career Andrew has promoted the role of laboratory medicine, in particular clinical chemistry, as a critical component of clinical care in all steps of the care pathway. He has been involved in training both medical biochemistry residents and clinical chemistry fellows in Hamilton, Ontario and he was the program director for the McMaster University Medical Biochemistry training program (2009-2014). He currently chairs the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada speciality committee for medical biochemistry.

Rachel is a Consultant Clinical Scientist at Synnovis, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital where she is Director of South East Thames Regional Newborn Screening Laboratory, Scientific Head of Service and Clinical Lead for Biochemical Sciences. She is also Chair of the UK Metabolic Biochemistry Network and a Screening Professional Clinical Advisor (ANNB laboratory) to NHSE.
Her main area of interest is inherited metabolic disease with a particular focus on the application of tandem mass spectrometry to the measurement of small molecules. She is passionate about science, an advocate of A3 thinking and committee to service improvement.
Dr Joy Yaplito-Lee is a biochemical genetic pathologist with a background in clinical metabolic medicine and paediatrics. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (RCPA) and Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP). Her key role is to provide specialist medical expertise to these laboratories.
She completed her general paediatrics training at the Philippine General Hospital, Manila and fellowship in clinical genetics with subspecialisation in biochemical genetics at the Children’s Hospital at West mead, Sydney and Victorian Clinical Genetics Services (VCGS), Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), Melbourne. She worked as a metabolic consultant for 16 years at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne where she was involved in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of paediatric patients with known and suspected inborn errors of metabolism.
