Registration & Payment

  • Please register via the Online registration form.
  • When registering online, a secure online form is available for credit card transactions, or you can chose the 'tax invoice' option and an invoice will be provided with EFT details.
  • Credit Cards accepted include Visa, MasterCard, Diners or Amex. Note: Amex will attract a 1.5% surcharge and Diners a 3% surcharge, which will be automatically charged and included in your total payment.
  • All amounts are in Australian Dollars and include 10% GST. Overseas registrants should arrange payment by bank draft payable in Australian Dollars at an Australian bank (please ensure you cover the transfer bank fees in your payment).
  • Delegates will receive a confirmation email which includes the receipt and tax invoice.
  • Cheques or bank drafts should be made payable to "AACB”.

All registration and function payments must be received prior to the Annual Scientific Conference. If payment is not received by 1 October 2023 your registration may be cancelled. 

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations of attendance must be made in writing to the Conference Secretariat.

  • A full refund, less a cancellation fee of $100 will be made on those received before 31 August 2023.
  • Refunds after 31 August 2023 will only be issued in exceptional circumstances (less the cancellation fee), but substitute delegates are acceptable.
  • All refunds will be paid after the conclusion of the Conference.

GST

A Tax Invoice will be issued with the receipt of registration. Unless otherwise requested in writing at the time of sending the registration enrolment form, the Tax Invoice will be in the name of the delegate.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Annual Scientific Conference. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the meeting, or through cancellation of the Annual Scientific Conference itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Conference Organisers, AACB, and the secretariat will take no responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel agent or airline in regard to this matter.

The Conference Program and registration information is correct at the time of printing. However, the organisers reserve the right to change the information where necessary without notice.

Registrants attend the conference at their own risk. The Australasia Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine (AACB), the conference organisers and secretariat are not liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs, claims or liabilities suffered or incurred by registrants including consequential or indirect losses or loss of profit through registering for the conference, attending the conference, cancellation of the conference, failure of the conference to achieve your expectations, or for any error or omission by AACB. 

The AACB, the conference organisers and secretariat will not accept liability for the damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons or loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the AACB Conference or related events. 

Force Majeure

AACB shall not be held liable for any loss caused by the cancellation of the conference where such cancellation is due to Force Majeure. The organisers will use all reasonable efforts to conduct the conference despite the intervention or occurrence of any such cause.

In this clause, Force Majeure means circumstances which are beyond the reasonable control of the all involved parties, and which are reasonably likely to affect the successful delivery of the Event or would make it inadvisable, impracticable, illegal, or impossible for a party to perform its obligations as originally contracted under this Agreement, including: fire, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, collapse of building structures, widespread disease or other public health emergency (including pandemic or epidemic), strike or other industrial action, the outbreak or declaration of war, act of terrorism, revolution or government orders or action (including the declaration of a State of Emergency).

Without prejudice to its obligations AACB accept no liability and will not be liable for any compensation where the performance of its obligations under this Agreement is affected by Force Majeure.
